Breakfast in Hotel Vista Nagoya Nishiki

Highly recommend the breakfast! There was variety although I mostly ate the Japanese section. Really enjoyed the potato salad, fried noodles, ebi katsu, eggplant, miso soup and meatball vegetable soup. I looked forward to it every morning! You can choose how you like your eggs which I recommend the scrambled. The counter table has power outlets if you need to charge your phone or power bank. Staff was very friendly and most spoke English, except the one that attended to me when I dropped off my luggage. Since I was staying for 6 nights, I chose the bigger bed so I had more space. The power outlet near the bed was convenient, so is the little shelf below the TV to store my other charging cables. Light below the bed was convenient too and less harsh when getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I appreciated the less cleaning, I think it was every 4 days. Used towels and trash were collected every day. I did laundry here on my first night before dinner, and collected it after dinner. My synthetic ski pants didn't burn in the dryer lol! I went to reception to change 500 yen as it is coin-operated. The laundry powder has a scent but not overpowering. Good location as it is a short walk from Hisaya-odori station on two subway lines. The nearest subway exit is stairs only but there's a further exit with lift/elevator access; do check in advance. I also walked to Fushimi station once which didn't seem that far. Many konbini within walking distance.

Front desk staff were always very helpful. Even though there was a language barrier, we were able to understand each other enough to accomplish each task. The gentleman who preps the food everyday and makes sure breakfast runs smoothly was so kind and amazing. We were able to communicate very well as his English was amazing. He was our favorite part about staying there. Would stay again just to see him again! The rooms were a good size for our family of 4. The beds were comfortable. My husband and I loved the shower room, it also made bathing the kids easy.

While the room was the smallest hotel room we stayed in during our Japan trip (so far), we had everything we needed! The bed was comfortable, we had a little table and seat. We loved the separate toilet and shower room, and the bathtub. We also used the washer/dryer on the second floor, it's easy to use and very convenient. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, especially with organizing to ship our luggage. We loved that we got fresh towels and water everyday, but still had a sustainable room cleaning only once during our stay.

Great location! Walking distance to Nagoya Palace and the Chubu Electric Tower. The park extending north and south around the tower has great shops and restaurants as well as nice areas to relax. The downtown area around the hotel has many izakaya, restaurants, clubs, and small markets to get pretty much whatever you may need while travelling. Finally, the breakfast there is fantastic and inexpensive. The gentleman that custom prepared the eggs and french toast while we were there was incredibly nice and all of the staff were helpful.

Our Economy Double room felt larger due to the space being maximised and well-thought-out. Fitting a separate shower room, separate toilet, basin area, sofa and bedside table/desk into the space without a cramped feeling is some achievement. Plus a space for leaving shoes and hanging clothes of course. The head chef at breakfast was particularly kind, friendly and welcoming, so a big thank you to him for making our stay even better.
